Drinking Buddies is an annual CrossFit fundraiser competition for the Backpack Program through the Rhode Island Food Bank; which provides before/after school meals throughout the year for students across the state. The programming begins with a 3-event partner CrossFit competition followed by an outdoor beer garden social. All of proceeds from the event (including all the athlete registration fees and a portion of all pours) go directly to the school-based pantry and backpack programs in Rhode Island.
Working with CrossFit Providence and Moniker Brewery, I donated my time to create a teeshirt for the athletes, participants, and donors. The graphic features some typographic play on an olympic lifiting plate (45kg) ornamented by simple wheat and hops linework... An obvious pairing for a crossfit gym and brewery!
Service Gothic by HEX was used in all its variable glory for the project.
In 2021, we raised over $3,000 for the cause!
